Issue 115 Released Monday, April 30th

That’s tomorrow! We received shipment of our awesome new mags on Friday and will be selling them in the Humanities Building lobby area at San Francisco State starting tomorrow, Monday, April 30th through Friday, May 11th. These new issues are $10 each and most back issues are $5 each (some are $2 and some classic issues are $15; this information will soon be available under the “Issues” tab).

Transfer 115 Front Cover

Transfer 115‘s editorial crew decided a little extra space would increase the aesthetic appeal of the mag, and, at 6″ x 9″, it has a cool retro feel like one of our classic pre-Y2K back issues. The larger page size provided Managing Editor Cori Amato Hartwig and Digital Media Director James Giffin with a larger canvas to layout this semester’s fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, artwork, and interview with Brandon Diaz (writer and past adjunct professor at San Fransisco State). The matte cover retains the vibrant color of Erika Alvarez‘s “Overwhelmed,” yet maintains sophistication and avoids messy fingerprints and glare—its physicality will remind you why print is, shall we say, superior to online or otherwise digital publication.

Come grab a copy and tell us what you think. We’ll be selling issues, current and past, in the Humanities lobby during the following hours:

Monday, 4/30: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tuesday, 5/1: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wednesday, 5/2: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday, 5/3: 10: a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday, 5/4: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Monday, 5/7: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tuesday, 5/8: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wednesday, 5/9: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Thursday, 5/10: 10: a.m. – 4 p.m.
Friday, 5/11: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Up next: we will be opening our Submittable portal in the near future to allow for a continuous submission process. Keep those pens and keyboards busy!
